  • Should men have a say when it comes to the issue of abortion? Why or why not?

EVERYONE is allowed an opinion on anything they are well versed in. if some particular man is against abortion in general because he personally believes it to be immoral, or unethical then that is his opinion.

but is he entitled to prevent someone else from having the choice? absolutely not. part of forming the opinion was having a choice. in the long run, the woman is the one affected most by a child both physically and emotionally. therefore, it is HER right to choose what is best for HER. the government (or any man) has no right to make that choice for ANY woman.

the biggest case in the news right now is sarah palin's daughter. but didn't she make a CHOICE to keep the baby? didn't sarah palin have the CHOICE whether or not to continue a pregnancy with a baby with down syndrome? the CHOICE is your legal right in this country and no one should have that taken away from them. not by God, not by their parents, not by their government, not by their boyfriend/husband. NO ONE SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO MAKE YOUR CHOICES FOR YOU!!! what you do is between you, your family, and eventually God if you believe such things.

Do you think most people have children because it's socially expected or because they truly want to?

i am a little biased on this query because my parents weren't meant to have kids. they really weren't. sad, but true. they aren't nurturing the way my friend's parents are. they expect too much of me. maybe the fact that they couldn't get pregnant was a sign. they just really don't know what it means to be selfless. to put a child first, instead of yourself. and because of that, i've been grown up since i was about 7. i had to be.

i honestly think most people feel social obligation to have kids. that or the biological clock feeds them romanticized ideals about what having kids is like. it's no picnic. they're loud, messy, annoying, a liability, a responsibility, they change EVERYTHING. and it gets even harder as they get older. not easier.

you shouldn't have a baby because you're worried you're running out of time to do so, or because you love your husband/boyfriend/girlfriend/wife what have you. you should have one because your joy comes from providing for others and you are ready to take on the financial and ethical responsibilities that come with it.

    1 year, 2 months, 8 days

i've gone through four different colors
of nail polish just this afternoon
    none of them
could ever quite fit the tune
i tried on five different outfits
and put my hair up 8 different ways
    continued to
    compose this melody ablaze
    in my soul

    you are the common goal!
    every little thing i do
    brings me closer to you
    (in my soul)
    feelings i cannot control
i was yours right from the start
    and you've stolen my heart
i watched at least 12 different movies
just to see which ones reminded me of you
    every one
    had something related to
the past one year, two months, eight days
of happy memories inside this cluttered town
    and all the moments
when we didn't make a sound
    just to hear

    that ringing in my ears!
    every little thing i do
    brings me closer to you
    (can you hear)
the future is so crystal clear
i was yours from the start
    and you've stolen my heart
there is nothing left to be confused about tonight
there is nothing left to be confused about no not tonight
    can't you see

that they've got nothing on me!
    every little thing i do
    brings me closer to you
    (can't you see)
the way you've made me so complete
i was yours right from the start
and you've just stolen my heart
    you've stolen my heart

    monday:
puked like a little bitch for the first three hours of my day. omgosh it was AWFUL. the bike ride home surprisingly did some good. :]] i felt better and had an appetite when i got home. simon called to surprise me by saying he was coming into town on tuesday! :D

    tuesday:
i hadn't seen him since the end of may. it was a well deserved visit. we went to see "don't mess with the zohan" which was really stupid, but the makeout session was amazing. :P unfortunately i'm on my preiod otherwise i might've had sex with him right then and there. ;]] then we had la salsa and we had an AMAZING adventure in walgreens!!! omgosh "bag o' socks", "fiddle faddle", and "life-like gooey toys" omgosh it was the funniest shit! and there was a tickle-me-elmo! wow. funny funny shit.

    wednesday:
kinda just hung out at home... simon came over to try to help me fix my laptop. whatever my entire user is corrupt. i'd delete it, but i need the music and such. so i'll just let it sit. it was fun we went for a walk to the park and what not. it was just really chill. :]]

    thursday:
saw WALL-E with my friends! so amazing! :DDD still bummed simon didn't go! he would've loved it! but it was still amazingly fun. then went to market and met simon for dinner (which he paid for! thanks babe :]]). we went to sultan's bistro. DELICIOUS!!! we had "gyros" for some reason pronounced "euros". they were salty and rich and a completely unique constellation of flavors. i could eat one everyday. mmmmmmm :]]. market was fun we roamed around and eventually met neil and tanna and jonelle. then i took jahlela and monica home with me and jahlela is currently asleep on my couch lol!

that's my week thus far. drinking, boyfriend, friends, good movies, and (to come) a national holiday. it has it all! i'm sure my july 4th will be amazing as well. we have things that go "boom!" :D will update tomrrow.
